Introduction

Key bindings are a very useful shortcut to enable you to enter any game command, meta command, or other macro with a single keystroke.

Daimonin knows several default key bindings. These may easily be changed and new ones created.

Changing/creating key bindings

To add a new binding or alter an existing one use the bind keys dialog. When you have selected a slot:

  1. type the macro you require. This may be a game command, a meta command, or any other text string. If a macro already exists in that slot, it is preserved and you can edit it. When you are done press RETURN;
  2. press a key to bind the macro to that key; and
  3. press 'R' to toggle whether the macro will repeat for as long as you hold the key down (on, the default) or just be triggered once per keypress (off).

Press 'D' to save the bindings and return to the game.

Now when you press the bound key the associated macro will be sent to the console.

[ADVICE] A very useful meta command is "?M_MCON". If this prefixes a game command, the console will remain open after the macro has been sent, allowing you to manually complete the command. For example, the macro "?M_MCON/shout " sends the text "/shout " to the console, leaving you to type the message you wish to shout and press RETURN to send it.
